Hi! My name is Jenn and I graduated from the Master of Occupational Therapy program at the University of British Columbia. I also hold a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biology (Cell Biology and Genetics) and Psychology.
I have spent the last 15 years working with children in all different settings. From being an educational assistant in schools, to a program manager at a local non-profit dedicated to inclusive play, to now working as a pediatric occupational therapist at BC Children’s Hospital. No matter where I am, or in what capacity, I am passionate about seeing children and their families thrive. As an occupational therapist, I get to focus on supporting your child towards engagement and participation in the things that are meaningful to them- in the ways that are meaningful to them! In my practice I aim to create safe spaces where children know they are deeply valued, understood, and supported to reach their goals. I hope to achieve this through a collaborative, play-based, and neurodiversity affirming approach.
I am also committed to keeping up to date with the most current research and evidence-based practices. Some of my recent training includes completing DIR® 101 (an introductory course on DIR® and DIRFloortime® models for supporting autistic children), participating in Sherna Marcus’ Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing: Managing Complex Issues workshop, and I am in the process of completing the Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) Comprehensive Workshop by ICAN.
Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my family, baking bread, playing boardgames, as well as training to become a lactation consultant!
